Practitioners have to renew their registration every three years.<br /><br /><strong>Recordable Qualifications</strong><br />The NMC records only the following Post-Registration qualifications: Specialist Practice, Teaching and Nurse Prescribing. The NMC does not record any of the short courses validated previously by the former National Boards for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting.<br /><br /><strong>PIN cards</strong><br />The NMC PIN card is a receipt for the payment of your registration fee. It has never been intended as proof of registration. Employers who wish to check a practitioner's registration should contact the NMC confirmation service on 020 7631 3200. PIN cards are often lost or stolen and there is a possibility they might be misused.
